2. Why do you ask us to order our uniforms several weeks in advance of school opening?

Although we make every effort to anticipate your school's uniform needs for the coming school year, it is often difficult to predict the quantities and size combinations needed to accommodate every student with 100% accuracy. When you order in advance, it helps us to plan more carefully so that every student can be outfitted on time. By ordering early, you also avoid the inevitable "back-to-school rush" and the possible disappointment of having certain items out of stock.



3. At my school's uniform measuring, how do your representatives know what sizes to give my child? Do they anticipate for growth?

Our representatives typically have several years experience in fitting students for uniforms. While student growth spurts are often unpredictable, we normally allow for some summer growth and always strive to outfit the student with sizes that will last at least one school year.



4. When I place a back-to-school order with your representatives at my school, can I request certain sizes?

We will gladly honor any specific size requests. Simply write the sizes you prefer in the "Size" column of the order form and return it with your child on the day of measurement. If you prefer, you may attach a note explaining your size preferences or your child's specific needs. You may wish to familiarize yourself with our sizing system by clicking on the "Size Charts" link to the left of your screen.



5. I prefer to try-on and purchase the uniform items at your store closer to school opening. How can I do this and still take advantage of ordering early?

When you place your order with us on your school's measuring date, you can choose "pick-up at Marlou" as your delivery method. By doing so, merchandise is reserved for your child and you may pick up the uniforms at our store at your convenience during the summer. Your child will be able to try everything on and, if anything doesn't fit, we'll exchange it on the spot. If the exchanged item is not in stock, we will ship it to you via UPS with no shipping charge. We guarantee any item exchanged before August 10th will be sent to you in time for school opening (with the exception of blazers). Merchandise may also be deleted from or added to your order at the time of pick up.



6. If I placed a back-to-school order with your representatives at my school, when will it be shipped or ready for pick-up?

If your order is a mail order, and your balance due (if any) is paid, your order will be shipped sometime in June or July, depending on merchandise availability. We regret that we are unable to give you a specific date when your order will ship. Please note that orders for different students may ship at different times during the summer. If you need to change your shipping address, please call customer service at 1-800-669-1512.

If your order is a pick-up order, you will receive a yellow postcard in the mail when the order is ready. You will receive a separate notice for each order that you have placed. If you have not received notification by August 1st that your pick-up order is ready, please call customer service.



7. I received a bill in the mail for the balance due on my uniform order. Can I charge the balance to my credit card rather than sending a check?

Yes. Please call customer service at 1-800-669-1512 and tell the representative that you wish to charge your balance due. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.



8. I have placed an order for two of my children and I'm being charged a separate shipping charge for each. Why can't I combine them to save on the shipping charges?

We try to keep our shipping charges as low as possible and we do not "mark-up" or pad our shipping charges like many retailers do. Our standard shipping charge reflects the weight of an average uniform order and we do not charge extra for large orders. If one of your orders is relatively small (1 or 2 items), we will try to combine it with another larger order if you ask us to do so. We regret that we can not combine a girls order and a boys order, or orders from two different schools.



9. I have a "pick-up" back-to-school order, but now I prefer to have it mailed to me. Can I change this order to a mail order?

Yes. Please call customer service at 1-800-669-1512 and tell the representative that you wish to change a "pick-up" order to a "mail" order and he or she will be able to help you.



10. I have a "mail" back-to-school order, but now I prefer to pick it up at your store. Can I simply come pick it up?

You may do so, but first it would be best to call customer service at 1-800-669-1512 to make sure the order is ready. Please note that pick-up orders may be paid with cash or credit card only.



11. I received my uniform order in the mail and some items don't fit. What should I do?

Any items that don't fit your child properly may be exchanged for the correct size. Please follow the instructions on the "Exchange / Return" form included with your order. Or click here for instructions on making an exchange.

13. How do I order additional items during the school year? Are you open year-round?

During the school year, you may order additional items via the internet, phone, fax, or mail, or you may visit our store in person. We are open year-round with the exception of the first week of July and Christmas week.



14. I ordered my uniform at the last minute and I may not have it in time for school opening. What is my school's policy on students out of uniform?

Most elementary schools require students to be in uniform on the first day of school, but allow a grace period for students registered just prior to school opening. In general, all high school students must be in uniform in order to attend classes. Therefore, it is especially important for high school students to place their order as early as possible, and make exchanges, if any, as soon as possible. Orders placed after August 1st can not be guaranteed delivery in time for school opening.
